On The Green CBD Is Now Midori Wellness and the Formulas Have Never Been Better
If you've been a loyal customer of On The Green CBD or you know us as OTG CBD, we want to be the first to tell you directly: we've rebranded. Completely. Thoughtfully. And for reasons that go far deeper than a new name and a cleaner logo.
We are now Midori Wellness. Our home is midori-wellness.com. And while the founders are the same, the values are the same, and the products you trusted are still here, the way we make those products has fundamentally changed.
This is not a cosmetic update. This is a genuine upgrade story.
We rebuilt our entire formulation approach from the ground up, moving away from pre-made broad spectrum hemp extracts and toward a precision system where every cannabinoid in every product is sourced as a pure isolate and combined at exact, predetermined ratios. That change ripples through everything: the potency, the consistency, the transparency on the label, and the confidence you can have in what you're actually using.
The CBD industry is noisy. Claims are easy to make. We have always believed the answer to that noise is rigor, third-party testing, honest labels, formulas you can verify. The Midori rebrand is the fullest expression of that belief yet. We didn't just update the packaging. We rewrote the formula.
If you want the full story, what changed, why it matters, and what you'll see in every product, read on.
Why We Rebranded: The Meaning Behind Midori
The name On The Green CBD was born from our founder's story. Nick Fishenden spent years as a professional golfer and the green was where he lived. That chapter shaped him, shaped how he thinks about performance, recovery, and the demands placed on the body day after day, and ultimately led him to build a CBD brand that took formulation seriously in a market that, frankly, often doesn't.
But brands grow. And this one grew quickly beyond its origins.
The products had evolved into something you'd find in a wellness practitioner's studio, not just a golfer's kit bag. The customer base had expanded to include everyone from weekend runners to people who simply wanted a higher standard of topical skincare. And the formulation approach had advanced to the point where the old name no longer told the right story.
Midori (緑) is the Japanese word for green. Not just any green, the deep, botanical, living green of plants and nature. It reflects our San Diego roots, our botanical philosophy, and a belief that the best formulas come from working with nature precisely rather than approximating it. There is also something in Japanese design philosophy, the pursuit of deliberate simplicity, of reducing things to what is essential and removing what is not. That runs through how we think about formulation. Every ingredient earns its place. Nothing is there by accident or convention.
The wellness dimension of the new name matters too. On The Green CBD was built around CBD specifically. Midori Wellness is built around the full, intelligent application of cannabinoid science — CBD, CBG, CBN, CBDA, terpenes — in service of a broader wellness philosophy. The name had to reflect that ambition.
For longtime OTG customers, this might feel like a lot at once. We understand that. Change can be unsettling when you've found something you trust. But everything that made you trust On The Green CBD in the first place, the rigorous third-party testing, the refusal to pad labels with inflated numbers, the commitment to transparency is not just intact. It has been strengthened and codified into a new system that makes those values visible in a way they couldn't be before.
The Same Products, Significantly Upgraded
Here is the honest version of what changed in how we formulate and why it matters more than you might expect.
The old approach | On The Green CBD:
We used pre-made broad spectrum hemp extract. That extract was primarily CBD, with trace amounts of other cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, and CBDA naturally present in the plant material. Those trace amounts were neither predictable nor controllable. They varied depending on the hemp cultivar, the growing season, and the extraction batch. We could tell you accurately how much total CBD was in a product. We could not meaningfully specify how much CBG, CBN, or CBDA was present because those amounts fluctuated, and in most cases they were too small to list with confidence.
The result was good products. But it was also an inherent limitation. If the science of multi-cannabinoid skincare matters and we believe it does, then relying on trace amounts from a pre-made extract is not a sufficient approach.
The new approach | Midori Wellness:
We now source CBD, CBG, CBN, and CBDA separately. Each as a pure, pharmaceutical-grade isolate. Then we combine them at precise, predetermined ratios to build what we call the Midori Broad Spectrum. On top of that base, we layer specific terpene profiles selected deliberately for each product's sensory character and purpose.
The result is transformative on the label. Every Midori Wellness product now lists the exact milligrams of every cannabinoid it contains. Not just a total. Not a combined figure. Individual, verified amounts. 1,200mg CBD and 800mg CBG in the Relief Crème, for example, confirmed by third-party Certificate of Analysis.
That is a fundamentally different product from what it replaced. And when you look at the potency comparison below, you'll see exactly how different.
What Changed in Every Product, the Full CBD Potency Upgrade
Here is a direct comparison of every Midori Wellness product against its On The Green CBD predecessor. These figures come directly from product labels, confirmed by third-party testing.
| Product | On The Green CBD | Midori Wellness |
|---|---|---|
| Freeze Gel 90ml Roll-On | 500mg CBD | 1,000mg CBD + 500mg CBG |
| Freeze Gel 150ml | (new size) | 1,700mg CBD + 850mg CBG |
| Relief Crème 100ml | 500mg CBD | 1,200mg CBD + 800mg CBG |
| Relief Crème 150ml | 1,500mg CBD | 1,800mg CBD + 1,200mg CBG |
| Body Crème 250ml | 500mg CBD | 800mg CBD + 200mg CBG |
| Repair Balm 60ml | 500mg CBD | 500mg CBD + 500mg CBG + 500mg CBDA |
| Body Scrub 200ml | 500mg CBD | 500mg CBD + 500mg CBG |
| Restore Body Oil 100ml | 250mg CBD | 500mg CBD + 200mg CBG |
| Recover Body Oil 100ml | (new product) | 350mg CBD + 350mg CBG |
| Relax Body Oil 100ml | 250mg CBD | 500mg CBD + 200mg CBN |
The numbers speak for themselves, but a few highlights deserve attention.
The Freeze Gel 90ml Roll-On went from 500mg CBD alone to 1,000mg CBD plus 500mg CBG, a total of 1,500mg of precisely specified cannabinoids in the same compact roll-on format. The Relief Crème 100ml went from 500mg CBD to 2,000mg of cannabinoids total: 1,200mg CBD and 800mg CBG, every milligram measurable and verified.
The Repair Balm is perhaps the most dramatic illustration of the formulation shift. Previously a single-cannabinoid product with 500mg CBD, it now carries three cannabinoids in equal concentrations 500mg CBD, 500mg CBG, and 500mg CBDA. That is 1,500mg total across three distinct cannabinoids in a 60ml balm. That product did not just get more potent. It became a fundamentally different formula.
The Relax Body Oil tells its own story. Where the old version carried 250mg CBD, the new formula doubles the CBD to 500mg and adds 200mg CBN a cannabinoid chosen specifically for its sensory profile and the role we wanted it to play alongside CBD in that particular formula. You are getting a completely different experience.
Two new products join the range with the rebrand: the Freeze Gel 150ml, offering 1,700mg CBD plus 850mg CBG for those who want the Freeze Gel in a larger format, and the Recover Body Oil 100ml, a new 350mg CBD and 350mg CBG formula.
Why Building from Isolates Changes Everything
The phrase "broad spectrum CBD" is used extensively across the skincare and wellness industry. What it means in practice, however, varies enormously from brand to brand — and that variation has real consequences for the person using the product.
In the most common version, broad spectrum means a full-plant hemp extract with THC removed. You get CBD as the dominant compound and whatever other cannabinoids the hemp plant happened to produce alongside it. CBG, CBN, and CBDA may be present, but in amounts determined by the plant's genetics, the cultivation conditions, and the extraction process, not by the formulator's intention. Those trace amounts often cannot be meaningfully specified on a label, because they are too variable and too small to guarantee.
The Midori Broad Spectrum is different in kind, not just in degree.
Precision you can verify. Every product label shows the exact milligrams of each cannabinoid present. 1,200mg CBD and 800mg CBG in the Relief Crème is not a marketing figure or an estimate, it is a tested, confirmed amount that appears on the Certificate of Analysis issued by our independent third-party laboratory. When you buy a Midori Wellness product, you know precisely what you are applying to your body.
Potency that is intentional, not incidental. When we formulated the Relief Crème, we decided to include 800mg of CBG alongside 1,200mg of CBD. That was a deliberate formulation decision made by our team, not inherited from a hemp plant's natural cannabinoid expression. The same is true for every ratio in every product. Each formula exists because someone chose it, not because the extract happened to contain it.
Consistency across batches. When you are combining isolates at fixed ratios, you remove the variability that comes from agricultural and extraction differences. Every batch of the Freeze Gel contains the same 1,000mg CBD and 500mg CBG as the last. There is no drift, no seasonal variation, no batch-to-batch inconsistency. That is only possible when you build the formula yourself.
A deliberate approach to multi-cannabinoid skincare. The entourage effect is the widely discussed hypothesis that cannabinoids and terpenes may function more effectively in combination than in isolation, that the whole could be greater than the sum of its parts. Research into this theory is ongoing, and we make no therapeutic claims about it. But it is the scientific rationale behind why we formulate with multiple cannabinoids rather than CBD alone. By building the Midori Broad Spectrum from isolates, we apply that theory with intention: choosing which cannabinoids to combine, in what ratios, based on what each specific formula is designed to do.
In the Relax Body Oil, that means CBD paired with CBN a deliberate decision about which cannabinoids we wanted working together in that formula. In the Repair Balm, it means three cannabinoids in equal concentrations: CBD, CBG, and CBDA. In the Relief Crème and Freeze Gel, it means a high-CBD base reinforced with substantial CBG.
The terpenes follow exactly the same philosophy. Rather than inheriting a terpene profile from the extract, we select and add terpene blends deliberately, each chosen for its sensory character and its relationship to the cannabinoid profile in that specific product. This is what intentional multi-cannabinoid skincare looks like in practice. This is what "every ingredient earns its place" means at the formulation level.
What Stays the Same
We want to be direct with longtime OTG customers: the things that earned your trust have not changed.
The personal accountability that characterised On The Green CBD from its earliest days is unchanged. This has never been a brand built on marketing spend or celebrity partnerships. It was built on formulation rigour and the trust of customers who noticed the difference.
Third-party testing is still non-negotiable. Every Midori Wellness product is tested by an independent laboratory before it leaves our facility. The Certificates of Analysis confirm the cannabinoid content shown on every label. You can request COAs for any product at midori-wellness.com. The milligram figures you see on the label are not aspirational numbers, they are tested facts.
The products you know are all still in the range. The Freeze Gel, the Relief Crème, the Body Crème, the Repair Balm, the Body Scrub, the Body Oils, every format that OTG customers relied on made the transition to Midori Wellness. All of them were reformulated and upgraded in the process. Two new additions, the Freeze Gel 150ml and the Recover Body Oil join the range as part of the launch.
The commitment to clean, transparent formulation remains at the centre of everything. No filler cannabinoids added to inflate a total. No vague "full spectrum" or "broad spectrum" claims without the numbers to back them up. No proprietary blends hiding behind percentages. Every cannabinoid in every Midori product is there because it was chosen to be there, and the amount is specified and verified.
What has changed is everything that was holding us back: the pre-made extract with its inherent limitations, the single-cannabinoid approach, and a brand identity that no longer reflected what we had become. Replacing those things wasn't a difficult decision. It was the only one that made sense.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is On The Green CBD the same as Midori Wellness?
Yes. Midori Wellness is the full rebrand of On The Green CBD (also known as OTG CBD). Same founder, same San Diego base, same third-party tested approach and the same product range, now formulated to a significantly higher standard using the Midori Broad Spectrum system. The website has moved from onthegreencbd.com to midori-wellness.com.
Why did you rebrand from On The Green CBD to Midori Wellness?
Two reasons. First, the brand had evolved well beyond its origins "On The Green" reflected our founder Nick Fishenden's professional golf background, but the products and the customer base had grown into a broader wellness space. Second, the formulation approach changed so significantly that a new identity felt right and necessary. Midori (緑) means "green" in Japanese and reflects our botanical philosophy and our commitment to precision formulation. It is the right name for where this brand is heading.
Are the products the same? What changed?
The product formats you know, the Freeze Gel, Relief Crème, Body Crème, Repair Balm, Body Scrub, and Body Oils are all still part of the Midori range. What changed is how they are made and how potent they are. Every product has been reformulated using the Midori Broad Spectrum system, with cannabinoid content upgraded significantly across the board. Two new products join the range: the Freeze Gel 150ml and the Recover Body Oil 100ml. See the full comparison table above for exact potency figures.
What is the Midori Broad Spectrum?
The Midori Broad Spectrum is our proprietary approach to multi-cannabinoid skincare formulation. Instead of using a pre-made broad spectrum hemp extract which delivers CBD alongside uncontrolled trace amounts of other cannabinoids, we source CBD, CBG, CBN, and CBDA as individual pure isolates and combine them at precise, predetermined ratios. This means every product specifies the exact milligrams of each cannabinoid it contains, verified by independent third-party lab testing, with consistent results from batch to batch.
Where can I find my Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
COAs for all Midori Wellness products are available at midori-wellness.com. Each COA is issued by an independent third-party laboratory and confirms the cannabinoid content shown on the product label. If you have a specific batch you want tested or verified, contact us directly through the website.
